February 17, <\/strong>Pozirk<\/strong>.<\/em> For Belarus and China, 2026 will be a year of \u201csuccessful opportunities\u201d with increased cooperation at all levels, says Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka’s congratulatory message to Chinese leader Xi Jinping on the Chinese New Year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year marked an important stage in comprehensive strategic partnership, the Belarusian ruler\u2019s press office cited the message. \u201cI warmly recall our meetings in Beijing and Tianjin, during which we outlined long-term guidelines for further cooperation,\u201d \u0141uka\u0161enka said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBy systematically advancing joint projects and initiatives, Belarus and China have reached a qualitatively new level of cooperation in industrial development, technology and innovation, education and culture, sports and tourism,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The politician also expressed hope that the trade agreement between the two countries would contribute to more favorable conditions for businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0141uka\u0161enka described the new football stadium and swimming pool in Minsk, built largely with Chinese funding, as symbols of the friendship between Belarus and China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, earlier this year, he criticized officials for failing to do enough to attract investment from China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
