February 17, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>Authorities plan to increase Belarus\u2019 exports this year through diversification to countries inside and outside the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and stimulating domestic demand, Prime Minister Alaksandar Tur\u010dyn said on Tuesday at a government conference chaired by Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the government\u2019s \u201ckey social and economic development targets\u201d this year is export growth of 3.7 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Tur\u010dyn, officials have been assigned tasks in 77 countries and 80 Russian provinces with a view to meeting this target. For instance, ambassadors have been given tasks ranging from increasing exports to establishing assembly plants, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tur\u010dyn noted that the export support system had been adjusted to ensure that Belarusian exporters do not limit themselves to Russia and look for new markets. In particular, the more distant is the market and the more sophisticated are the goods, the more financial support will be available to exporters out of the state budget, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amid the contraction of the Russian market, the government will work to stimulate domestic demand, Tur\u010dyn said. He said that domestic agricultural companies would be supplied with Belarusian-made machinery, namely, with more than 2,500 \u201cenergy-saturated tractors\u201d and units of heavy machinery. More than two billion rubels (around $701.8 million) has reportedly been allocated for this purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The government has developed a special loan product that enables any economic entity to acquire modern heavy machinery on preferential terms under leasing contracts, Tur\u010dyn said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
