February 20, <\/strong>Pozirk.<\/strong> <\/em>Belarusian opposition leader \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja has called for setting up a working group on Belarus within the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE PA) at the organization\u2019s 25th<\/sup> winter meeting in Vienna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The politician proposed involving Belarusian pro-democracy forces in the group\u2019s work and appointing a special rapporteur on Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The year 2026 could be decisive both for Ukraine and Belarus, Cichano\u016dskaja noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cChanges in Belarus are inevitable,” she said. “Dictatorships collapse when no one expects it, and we must prepare now for a post-\u0141uka\u0161enka Belarus. I am convinced that the OSCE will play a key role in this process. With your help, we will restore justice, revive institutions and reintegrate Belarus into the international community.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The politician called for sustained pressure on Minsk, linking an end to its isolation to the release of all political prisoners, an end to politically-motivated reprisals and a termination of support for Russia\u2019s war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
