February 23, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq Al Said ordered the opening of an embassy in Belarus, with the move described as being in the “public interest,” says a document dated February 22 and published on decree.om<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The decree does not specify a date for the opening of the diplomatic mission. The Omani foreign ministry has not yet provided any details on the timing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last month, Belarus\u2019 Prime Minister Alaksandar Tur\u010dyn signed a directive to open a Belarusian embassy in Oman before January 1, 2027, as Minsk seeks to boost economic and other ties with the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka met the Sultan in December 2025 during his visit to Oman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarus and Oman have recently concluded an agreement allowing visa-free entry for stays of up to 30 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minsk eyes Oman as a gateway to Africa and Yemen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
