February 23, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Poland\u2019s Internal Security Agency (ABW) agents arrested a Belarusian national Pavie\u0142 T. on February 9 on suspicion of spying for Belarusian military intelligence, the Polish National Prosecutor’s Office reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The man was taken to the Masovian Regional Division of the Department for Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw, it noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On February 10, the prosecutor charged the suspect with spying in Poland, Germany and Lithuania between June 2024 and February 2026. The man is suspected of conducting reconnaissance at critical infrastructure facilities as well as facilities vital for the defense of Poland and NATO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next day, the court granted the prosecutor’s request and placed the suspect in custody for three months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The man may face up to five years in prison if convicted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Poland arrests three to four Belarusians every year for working for Belarusian and Russian intelligence services, Anna Grabowska-Siwiec, a retired Polish counterintelligence officer, said last month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
