February 23, Pozirk. <\/em><\/strong>\u201cThe heirs of the Nazis are once again attempting to form an armored fist to strike the East,\u201d Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka has said, in an apparent reference to the West, in his congratulatory message for Armed Forces Day, celebrated on February 23 in Belarus in line with Soviet Union traditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe all know, monitor and understand this,\u201d the politician’s press office quoted him as saying. \u201cI am convinced that only a modern, agile, well-equipped army can stand up to an aggressor. An army like the one we have been building all these years.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian ruler stressed that the Belarusian army is capable of “cooling the ardor of any aggressor.” He called the power of the army, along with the \u201cunity and solidarity of the people,” the guarantee of a “peaceful future” for the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0141uka\u0161enka made this statement ahead of the fourth anniversary of Russia\u2019s invasion of Ukraine and the launch of a full-scale war, in which the Belarusian authorities supported the Kremlin, allowing Russian troops to attack Ukraine from Belarus on multiple occasions and supplying arms to Moscow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian army has been regularly conducting drills amid tensions with the West and Russia\u2019s war against Ukraine. The ongoing exercise is expected to last until spring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
