February 24, Pozirk. <\/em><\/strong>Doctors at the Minsk Scientific and Practical Surgery, Transplant and Hematology Center performed their first hepatectomy (liver resection) using a robotic system made by China\u2019s Medbot on February 19. The procedure was reported on February 24.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The patient is feeling well and is expected to be discharged soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Robotic hepatectomy is a safe and effective minimally invasive liver surgery that is becoming increasingly common. It uses robotic systems to enhance precision, provide 3D imaging and, importantly, reduce hand tremors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The center noted that the new equipment brings Belarusian surgery to the global level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alieh Rummo, director of the center, also performed gallbladder surgery using the Medbot system on February 6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several teams of doctors completed training in China to operate the equipment, the health ministry reported earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarus\u2019 first robotic surgery was performed eight years ago at the National Clinical Medical Center, a clinic serving top officials, using the US-made Senhance Surgical System.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
