March 3, <\/strong>Pozirk.<\/strong> <\/em>Belarus and other members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) expressed “serious concern over the developments in the Middle East and the military strikes\u201d on Iran, the Belarusian foreign ministry reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The signatories stressed the need to ensure sovereignty, security and territorial integrity of Iran, urging all parties to exercise restraint and to refrain from actions that could aggravate the situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SCO members consider the use of force unacceptable and call for the resolution of existing differences exclusively by peaceful means, based on dialogue, mutual respect, while respecting the legitimate interests of all parties and in accordance with international law, the statement said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minsk joined the SCO in July 2024. The organization also includes China, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Military actions in the Middle East intensified on February 28 amid stalled negotiations over Iran\u2019s nuclear program, as Washington pressed Tehran to curb its nuclear activities and address concerns over its enrichment and uranium stockpile, while Iranian officials maintained they would not accept US demands without significant concessions on sanctions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iran\u2019s longtime ruler Ali Khamenei was killed at his residence during the United States and Israeli strikes on February 28. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
