March 4, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Foreign Minister Maksim Ry\u017eanko\u016d expressed Belarus\u2019 support for Oman’s efforts to establish lasting peace in the region at his meeting with Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, the Belarusian foreign ministry reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ministers stressed the need for a diplomatic solution and urged an immediate halt to hostilities, saying differences must be resolved peacefully to restore regional stability and security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ry\u017eanko\u016d reportedly pledged to make every effort to help de-escalate the conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian diplomat is currently on a visit to Ghana, where he met President John Dramani Mahama and conveyed Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka\u2019s \u201cpersonal invitation\u201d for him to visit Minsk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Military operations in the Middle East intensified on February 28 amid stalled negotiations over Iran\u2019s nuclear program, as Washington pressed Tehran to curb its nuclear activities and address concerns over its enrichment and uranium stockpile, while Iranian officials maintained they would not accept US demands without significant concessions on sanctions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iran\u2019s longtime ruler Ali Khamenei was killed at his residence during the United States and Israeli strikes on February 28. Tehran retaliated by launching missiles and drones at Israel and targeting American bases across the Middle East.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The US Operation Epic Fury against Iran aims to destroy the Iranian missile industry, defeat its fleet, prevent nuclear weapons development and ensure freedom for the Iranian people, according to US President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oman was also drawn into the conflict as Iranian drones attacked Duqm port in the south of the country and an oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
