March 5, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Belarus’ flagship carrier Bie\u0142avija brought 164 passengers from Oman’s Salalah to Minsk this morning, its press office reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline also dispatched a wide-body Airbus A330-200 to Dubai to pick up 281 people from the United Arab Emirates. The flight is scheduled to arrive in Minsk at around 9 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bie\u0142avija operated an evacuation flight on the same route yesterday, with more flights scheduled for this week and next. The Belarusian carrier is also awaiting the lifting of restrictions in Qatari airspace to organize a similar flight from Doha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two days ago, Bie\u0142avija picked up passengers in Dubai who had tickets for a Minsk-bound flight scheduled for February 28 that was cancelled amid the United States and Israeli strikes on Iran. The trip included a technical stop for refuelling in Kazakhstan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than 3,000 tourists from Belarus were stranded in the Middle East as of March 3, including 2,500 in the United Arab Emirates, about 320 in Oman and 200 in Qatar, according to the National Tourism Agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Military operations in the Middle East intensified amid stalled negotiations over Iran\u2019s nuclear program, as Washington pressed Tehran to curb its nuclear activities and address concerns over its enrichment and uranium stockpile, while Iranian officials maintained they would not accept US demands without significant concessions on sanctions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iran\u2019s longtime ruler Ali Khamenei was killed at his residence during the US-Israeli strikes on February 28. Tehran retaliated by launching missiles and drones at Israel and targeting American bases across the Middle East.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
