March 6, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ry\u017eanko\u016d had a phone call with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramovhas on the next day after reports of the Iranian drone strike on western Azerbaijan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarus\u2019 top diplomat \u201cexpressed concern about the escalation\u201d in the region, noting \u201cthe high risks of further expansion of the conflict and the involvement of third countries,” the Belarusian foreign ministry reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The parties stressed the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the region and highlighted the role of diplomacy in resolving disputes, the statement said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday, Iranian drones hit a passenger terminal at the airport in Azerbaijan’s exclave of Nakhchivan and a school near the village of Shakarabad, close to the border with Iran. Azerbaijan\u2019s President Ilham Aliyev accused Tehran of committing an \u201cact of terror\u201d following the incident and ordered the army to full combat readiness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
