March 9, <\/strong>Pozirk.<\/strong> <\/em>Belarusian opposition leader \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja took to X<\/a> to mark the fourth anniversary of the establishment of the Belarusian Kastu\u015b Kalino\u016dski Regiment (KKR), which is fighting Russia alongside Ukrainian forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe honor those who gave their lives in this struggle for a free Ukraine and a free Belarus,\u201d the politician said. \u201cOur nations share the same enemy and the same fight for freedom.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The founding day of the KKR has already entered Belarus\u2019s new history, marking a legacy of responsibility and dignity, Cichano\u016dskaja noted on Telegram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBelarusian volunteers are our modern heroes,\u201d she stressed. \u201cThey faced criminals without fear, going where there was risk and even death. They acted because their conscience would not allow them to remain indifferent.\u201d  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis day will enter history textbooks as a reminder: even when Belarus was ruled by a dictatorship, Belarusians still chose freedom,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In March 2022, shortly after Moscow staged an offensive on Kyiv, Belarusian volunteers formed the Kastu\u015b Kalino\u016dski Battalion, which soon joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and grew into a regiment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
