{"id":179757,"date":"2026-03-17T15:39:05","date_gmt":"2026-03-17T12:39:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/179757\/"},"modified":"2026-03-17T15:44:00","modified_gmt":"2026-03-17T12:44:00","slug":"czech-president-sanctions-against-belarusian-regime-remain-appropriate","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/179757\/","title":{"rendered":"Czech president: sanctions against Belarusian regime remain appropriate"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>March 17, <em>Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>\u201cSanctions against the Belarusian regime remain appropriate as long as it continues to imprison its critics and violently suppress civic freedoms,\u201d Czech President Petr Pavel <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/prezidentpavel\/status\/2033819821553430769\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">wrote<\/a> on X following his meeting with Belarusian Nobel Peace Prize laureate Ale\u015b Bialacki\u00a0yesterday<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEuropean countries should not close themselves off to Belarusian citizens \u2013 only in this way can Belarusians overcome the isolation imposed upon them,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bialacki was among 123 prisoners exchanged by \u0141uka\u0161enka in mid-December 2025 in exchange for United States sanctions relief on Belarusian potash fertilizers.
