March 19, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Military counterintelligence officers from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), with the army’s support, have arrested a \u201cdouble agent\u201d in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region on suspicion of working for Russia and Belarus, the SBU reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The suspect served at the Unmanned Systems Forces unit as a UAV operator. He allegedly provided Russia and Belarus with data on the movement patterns, types and numbers of Ukrainian Armed Forces’ drones deployed in combat operations in northeastern Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the instructions from Russian and Belarusian intelligence, the agent later took a position operating the Ukrainian Armed Forces\u2019 ground robotic systems used to evacuate casualties and supply ammunition in southeastern Ukraine, the SBU said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The suspect was reportedly collecting information on Ukrainian troop deployments, combat plans and the capabilities of the Armed Forces\u2019 newest robotic systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The man was accused of treason committed under martial law and may face life in prison if convicted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this year, a 35-year-old Belarusian woman was arrested in Kyiv on suspicion of acting as a deeply undercover agent for the Belarusian Committee for State Security (KGB) for more than a decade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2020, she was sent from Minsk to work as an agent in Ukraine, the SBU said, citing case files. The suspect reportedly operated under the cover of journalistic work, using her position and professional contacts to expand her network among Ukrainian politicians, military personnel and foreign diplomats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
