{"id":180619,"date":"2026-03-23T19:20:24","date_gmt":"2026-03-23T16:20:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/180619\/"},"modified":"2026-03-23T19:20:26","modified_gmt":"2026-03-23T16:20:26","slug":"seventeen-belarus-ex-prisoners-granted-asylum-in-poland","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/180619\/","title":{"rendered":"Seventeen Belarus\u2019 ex-prisoners granted asylum in Poland"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>March<\/strong><strong> 23, <\/strong><strong><em>Pozirk<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>.<\/em><\/strong><strong> <\/strong>Seventeen of the 123 prisoners released from Belarusian prisons in mid-December have been granted asylum in Poland, the opposition cabinet reported, citing Tomasz Cytrynowicz, head of the country\u2019s Office for Foreigners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Polish official met with Belarusian opposition politician Pavie\u0142 \u0141atu\u0161ka on March 23 to discuss the legalization of 83 Belarusian political prisoners released in December and initially expelled to Ukraine, as well as three prisoners taken to Lithuania on March 19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cytrynowicz said he had asked local officials to inform him on the status of Belarusian asylum seekers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u0141atu\u0161ka also discussed banks\u2019 refusals to open accounts for Belarusians.
