March 30, Pozirk<\/em>. <\/strong>Belarusian customs officers seized a large shipment of liquid used to manufacture drugs at the Belarusian-Polish border, the State Customs Committee\u2019s (SCC) press office reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The prohibited substances were disguised as cans of brake fluid and transported as goods for personal use via the Terespol-Brest checkpoint, it noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThird parties who were unaware of the contents of the cans were hired to transport them in exchange for monetary compensation,\u201d the SCC said, noting that 24 cans weighing 155 kilograms were seized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year, convictions of drug-related crimes rose by 7.9 percent in Belarus to 2,253, according to the Supreme Court\u2019s data. They accounted for 8 percent of all convictions \u2013 the proportion rose from 6.6 percent in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
