March 30,\u00a0Pozirk.\u00a0<\/strong>Belarusian authorities have annulled the passports of former political prisoners who were expelled from Belarus on their early release, the Viasna Human Rights Center reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

People who were forced out of the country in September and December 2026 had their passports annulled, former prisoners learned after checking their IDs in the interior ministry\u2019s database.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI think absolutely all prisoners who left with IDs \u2013 20-25 people \u2013 had their passports annulled,\u201d one source is quoted as saying. His passport, valid until 2031, was annulled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prominent influencer D\u017amitryj Kaz\u0142o\u016d also had his passport, valid until 2032, annulled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ministry\u2019s database says that the passport is invalid, but does not specify the grounds, said \u015aviat\u0142ana Ha\u0142a\u016dniova, of Viasna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She stressed that former prisoners continue face persecution in exile, as authorities seek to prevent them from coming back home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Authorities have already released about 500 prisoners as a result of negotiations with Washington. Many of them were expelled from the country, some without any IDs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
