April 3, <\/strong>Pozirk.<\/strong> <\/em>The Committee for State Security (KGB) added 11 individuals to its list of \u201cpersons involved in terrorist activity,\u201d among them five Belarusian volunteers of the Kastu\u015b Kalino\u016dski Regiment, the KGB said on Telegram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They are former commander Dzianis Prochara\u016d; Pavie\u0142 \u0160urmiej, a member of the command; Vadzim Kaban\u010duk, the regiment\u2019s former deputy commander now serving as the opposition\u2019s defense chief in the transition cabinet; Alaksiej Kaval\u010duk, an assault trooper at the Vo\u0142at unit; and the regiment’s instructor Alaksiej Nazara\u016d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this year, all five were sentenced to lengthy prison terms in Belarus without being present at the trial. Charges against them ranged from discrediting the state and setting up a criminal group to conspiracy to overthrow the government, extremism and terrorism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other additions to the official terrorist register include Alena Malino\u016dskaja, a former designated political prisoner persecuted on charges of calling for sanctions; D\u017amitryj Droby\u0161, Via\u010das\u0142a\u016d Vans\u0142avovi\u010d, \u015aviat\u0142ana Anhielejka (Ch\u0142y\u0161\u010dankova), as well as Siarhiej Pa\u0142cho\u016dski convicted on protest-related charges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along with these persons, the KGB blacklisted Ugandan Hamida Nabagala, recently sanctioned by the United Nations over involvement in financing international terrorism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In March 2022, shortly after Moscow staged an offensive on Kyiv, Belarusian volunteers formed the Kastu\u015b Kalino\u016dski Battalion, which soon joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and grew into a regiment. The unit, which fights Russia alongside Ukrainian forces, has marked its fourth anniversary this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka\u2019s regime declared the regiment a terrorist and extremist group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, the official terrorist list features 1,436 names, including nearly 700 Belarusians. The terrorist designation requires banks to freeze the designated persons\u2019 accounts. The designees cannot conduct any wireless cash transactions through banks or the post offices. They cannot receive money transfers in prison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
