{"id":1849,"date":"2023-08-24T12:55:00","date_gmt":"2023-08-24T09:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/api.pozirk.online\/?post_type=articles&#038;p=1849"},"modified":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","slug":"three-belarusian-regions-to-host-csto-september-drills","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/1849\/","title":{"rendered":"Three Belarusian regions to host CSTO September drills"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>August 24,&nbsp;<em>BPN<\/em>.<\/strong>&nbsp;The Collective Security Treaty Organization&#8217;s (CSTO) Combat Brotherhood drills will take place at &#8220;firing ranges and sites in the Brest, Hrodna and Minsk regions,&#8221; the defense ministry&#8217;s press office reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the first time, Belarus will host Barrier 2023, an exercise focusing on the formation of radiation, chemical and biological protection forces and medical support units, it noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Troops will start arriving in Belarus on August 25, the ministry added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some Russian servicemen reportedly arrived in Brest on August 19 for Interaction 2023, a stage of Combat Brotherhood scheduled from September 1 to 6 in Belarus. It will focus on the resolution of crises in the CSTO&#8217;s Eastern European region. Search 2023 and Echelon 2023 are events for intelligence and military logistics units, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anatoliy Sidorov, the CSTO chief of Joint Staff, said in February that the exercises in Belarus would serve no other purpose but training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CSTO is a military-political alliance whose declared goals are strengthening peace, international and regional security and stability, and protecting the independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty of its member states.
