April 28, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>\u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja met with Lithuanian President Gitanas Naus\u0117da on the sidelines of the Three Seas Initiative summit in Croatia\u2019s Dubrovnik to discuss \u201csupport for Belarusians in Lithuania.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, Cichano\u016dskaja and Naus\u0117da discussed efforts to liberate Belarusian political prisoners and Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka regime\u2019s crackdown on European Humanities University in exile in Vilnius, reported the press office of Belarus\u2019 pro-democracy leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI was pleased to meet with Lithuanian President Gitanas Naus\u0117da,\u201d Cichano\u016dskaja was quoted as saying. \u201cWe discussed current events in Belarus and Lithuania. I am very grateful for Lithuania\u2019s unwavering and consistent support for Belarusians in Lithuania. I especially value Lithuania\u2019s principled stance toward the \u0141uka\u0161enka regime.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cichano\u016dskaja also had meetings in Dubrovnik with Polish President Karol Nawrocki, Croatia\u2019s Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grli\u0107-Radman and the German Foreign Office\u2019s envoy Helga Schmid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On April 29, Cichano\u016dskaja is scheduled to have a \u201cbrief handshake\u201d with Romanian President Nicu\u0219or Dan as well as meetings with Romania\u2019s Foreign Minister Oana-Silvia \u021aoiu and Lauri Hussar, president of the Riigikogu (Estonia\u2019s parliament).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The three-day summit in Croatia began on April 27. The delegation of Belarus\u2019 pro-democracy forces includes Cichano\u016dskaja\u2019s aide Dzianis Ku\u010dynski and representative for parliamentary cooperation Anatol Labied\u017aka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at last year\u2019s summit of the Three Seas Initiative, Cichano\u016dskaja stressed that Belarus should be \u201cpart of a stable and safe region and not Russia\u2019s military staging ground.\u201d She played up the potential of the Three Seas Initiatives for the future \u201cfree Belarus.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Three Seas Initiative is a regional cooperation platform uniting 13 EU countries \u2013 Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia \u2013 to accelerate north-south infrastructure development across the energy, transport, and digital sectors.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Launched in 2015 by Poland and Croatia, the Three Seas Initiative aims to close long-standing connectivity gaps in Central and Eastern Europe and strengthen economic and geopolitical resilience.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative also cooperates with strategic partners such as the United States, Germany, Japan, the European Commission, Spain, and Turkey, and maintains associated participation for Ukraine, Moldova, Albania, and Montenegro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
