April 30, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Almost all of Belarus\u2019 118 districts are experiencing population outflow, particularly the rural areas, Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka has told officials during a conference on district-level investment projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAll opinion polls show that the main concern for residents in the regions is access to jobs with decent wages. Then come issues of prices, leisure, housing, utilities and so on,\u201d the Belarusian ruler\u2019s press office quoted him as saying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The One District-One Project initiative is specifically designed to create \u201cdecent jobs with decent wages,\u201d the politician stressed, noting some preliminary positive results along with shortcomings, falsifications and ineffective control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is now essential to develop enterprises producing goods that are in demand not only on the domestic market but also on foreign markets,\u201d he said. \u201cThey must be sold at a high profit. This is the key priority today, and it requires swift action.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarus\u2019 population fell by 11.3 percent or 1,154,323 people since 1995 to 9,056,080 in early 2026. However, the official data does not take into account the mass emigration of people from Belarus for political and economic reasons after the 2020 political crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
