May 11, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> The implementation of the 2021\u20132025 state armament program raised the share of state-of-the-art weapons in the Belarusian armed forces’ arsenal to about 45 percent, Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka has told officials during a meeting on armaments and the state defense procurement order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe share of [weapons] upgraded annually has increased to 2 percent,\u201d the Belarusian ruler\u2019s press office quoted him as saying. The policies in place \u201cenable us to keep our weapons and military equipment in a state of combat readiness,\u201d he added, noting that new aircraft, helicopters and air defense systems have been delivered to military units and are now in operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mechanized units have been equipped with \u201cstate-of-the-art armored vehicles, including those manufactured in Belarus\u201d to increase mobility, while servicemen can benefit from \u201cstate-of-the-art personal body armor and optics,\u201d the politician noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New communications systems are also a crucial component that cannot be left out, he said, stressing that the armed forces need modern weapons to fulfil their defense objectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year, the Belarusian defense industry supplied the army with 75,000 units of ammunition and 5,200 units of new weapons as well as military, special equipment and auxiliary equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The army reportedly received several weapons systems, including various types of jamming systems, control systems for the Vulkan multiple rocket launcher, armored personnel carriers, combat vehicles and radar systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
