{"id":188485,"date":"2026-05-21T17:12:20","date_gmt":"2026-05-21T14:12:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/188485\/"},"modified":"2026-05-21T17:12:22","modified_gmt":"2026-05-21T14:12:22","slug":"belarus-ict-sector-sees-5-percent-drop-in-net-profit","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/188485\/","title":{"rendered":"Belarus\u2019 ICT sector sees 5 percent drop in net profit"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>May 21,<\/strong><em><strong> Pozirk.<\/strong> <\/em>Net profit of Belarusian companies operating in the information and communication technology sector fell by 5.1 percent year on year to 2.9 billion rubels ($1.1 billion), according to <em>Pozirk<\/em>\u2019s analysis of the National Statistical Committee\u2019s (Bie\u0142stat) data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Digital economy companies posted a drop of 4.9 percent and those working in the content and media sector reported a decline of 15.3 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By contrast, e-commerce companies increased their net profit by nearly 9 percent to 137.6 million rubels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2020, many IT workers participated in the postelection protests after the disputed 2020 presidential election. Some companies relocated abroad following the subsequent crackdown.
