June 1, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> The Belarusian rubel gained 2.25 percent of its value against the US dollar last month and 4.93 percent since year’s start, climbing from 2.9027 to 2.7596 rubels, according to Pozirk<\/em>\u2019s analysis of the central banks\u2019 data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarus ranked second among the former Soviet countries in terms of its currency appreciation in January-May, after Russia with 9.2 percent and before Armenia with 3.46 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dollar dropped by 3.31 percent in Kazakhstan, 0.96 percent in Georgia, 0.23 percent in Uzbekistan and 0.05 percent in Tajikistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ukraine reported depreciation of its currency against the dollar by 4.43 percent; Moldova, by 3.21 percent; the Baltic states, by 0.9 percent; and Kyrgyzstan, by 0.04 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
