June 8, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka said Belarus could supply Ghana with industrial and agricultural equipment and train its soldiers as he met with that country\u2019s President John Dramani Mahama in Minsk on June 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two leaders are expected to sign agreements to expand legal framework for cooperation, the Belarusian ruler\u2019s press office reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mahama arrived in Minsk on June 5. He laid flowers at Victory Monument in Minsk and visited companies and sites in the Brest region. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ry\u017eanko\u016d met with his counterpart Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa in Accra on March 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGhana and Belarus cherish our strong relations, and we are poised to enhance our cooperation, particularly in the area of mechanized agriculture and tractor production, as we aim to anchor President Mahama\u2019s Feed Ghana initiative,\u201d Ablakwa said on Facebook after the talks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarus and Ghana have roughly the same area, but Ghana has a much larger population \u2014 35.7 million compared with 9.1 million in Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two countries have roughly similar GDP levels; therefore, Belarus\u2019 GDP per capita at purchasing power parity is much higher \u2014 about $32,000\u2013$34,000 compared with roughly $7,000\u2013$8,000 in Ghana.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
