June 8, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>Russian business tycoon Dmitry Mazepin said in an interview with state television channel Belarus One<\/em> that he plans to build a small plant in Belarus to produce water-soluble fertilizers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Mazepin, an agreement to this effect has been reached with Belarusian Prime Minister Alaksandr Tur\u010dyn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The facility will be based at Homiel Chemical Plant and will be built within two years with investment from Uralchim, said Mazepin, who owns 48 percent in this Russian chemical company, after selling his majority stake in 2022 amid Western sanctions. He added that the water-soluble fertilizers are used in greenhouse farming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On June 3, Mazepin had a meeting with Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka. Analysts described it as a sign that the Belarusian ruler has \u201cforgiven\u201d the Belarusian-born businessman for calling for a dialogue with his opponents during the 2020 post-election protests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While receiving Mazepin, \u0141uka\u0161enka referred to him as a \u201cwealthy person\u201d who should \u201cwork for his motherland.\u201d \u201cWe would like to discuss our cooperation prospects, as suggested by our prime minister,\u201d \u0141uka\u0161enka said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
