{"id":191004,"date":"2026-06-08T18:53:54","date_gmt":"2026-06-08T15:53:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/191004\/"},"modified":"2026-06-08T18:53:56","modified_gmt":"2026-06-08T15:53:56","slug":"number-of-belarusian-holders-of-lithuanian-residence-permits-falls-below-49000","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/191004\/","title":{"rendered":"Number of Belarusian holders of Lithuanian residence permits falls below 49,000"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>June 8, <em>Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>As many as 48,926 citizens of Belarus were holding Lithuania\u2019s residence permits on June 1, compared with 49,179 a month before, a decrease of 0.5 percent, according to official data from Lithuania\u2019s migration department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The number dropped by 2.7 percent from 50,256 on January 1; by 7.1 percent from 52,662 on June 1, 2025; and by 21.9 percent from 62,627 on June 1, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The decrease in May 2026 was partly attributable to the expiration of temporary residence permits, as the number of their holders decreased by 289 to 44,571.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the other hand, 35 more Belarusians (4,149) hold permanent residence permits in Lithuania. A total of 128 Belarusians held temporary residence cards in the European Union, while 78 had permanent residence status, with both numbers remaining relatively stable throughout the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The number of Belarusians holding Lithuanian residence permits on the grounds of employment, family reunification and studies decreased by 215 to 34,179, 36 to 4,671 and one to 902, respectively.
