June 10, <\/strong>Pozirk.<\/strong> <\/em>Belarus saw a 0.1-percent rise in consumer prices in May, with a 2.6-percent increase since January, the National Statistical Committee (Bie\u0142stat) reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last month, food prices dropped by 0.2 percent, while non-food prices and services climbed by 0.1 and 0.4 percent, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Consumer prices’ growth this year was driven mainly by a 5.9-percent rise in services prices. Food prices climbed by 1.5 percent, while non-food prices rose by 1.4 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2025, the government was expecting inflation to slow down to 5 percent, yet it stood at 6.8 percent following 5.2 percent reported in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, inflation is not expected to exceed 7 percent, according to the key economic targets for 2026 that Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka approved last November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
