June 17, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Deputy Foreign Minister Ihar Siekreta has urged members of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) to \u201crestore military-to-military contacts and communications\u201d with Belarus, as he addressed an annual security conference in Vienna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suspension of contacts has \u201csignificantly increased the risk of errors, dangerous incidents, misperceptions and false conclusions,\u201d the foreign ministry\u2019s press office quoted him as saying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minsk advocates the restoration of a \u201cserious, professional dialogue\u201d within the OSCE framework, the official added, noting that all contacts should be free of \u201cendless mutual accusations and political grandstanding, without preconditions or attempts to lecture one another.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBelarus does not want war,\u201d he said, adding that Belarusians reject war more than any other nation because they know the value of peace. \u201cWe want cooperation. We want to build roads, enterprises and logistics routes,\u201d Siekreta said. \u201cWe want to see predictable and prosperous neighbors around us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The deputy foreign minister\u2019s calls for peace came amid Belarus\u2019 de facto complicity in Russia\u2019s full-scale war on Ukraine, which started in February 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
