June 29, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka met with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing on June 29, with the Chinese leader reportedly expressing satisfaction with bilateral ties and stressing that China and Belarus should maintain their \u201cstrategic communication.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Pul Pervogo<\/em>, a Telegram channel linked to the Belarusian ruler\u2019s press office, Xi Jinping told \u0141uka\u0161enka that relations between China and Belarus are \u201cexperiencing a historic peak\u201d and described the two countries as \u201ciron friends\u201d whose partnership has \u201cwithstood any tests of international turbulence.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Chinese foreign ministry, Xi stressed the need for maintaining \u201cstrategic communication\u201d and continuing to \u201cadvance bilateral relations at a high level.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Xi reportedly said that Beijing supports Belarus \u201cin defending its state sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, and in choosing a development path suited to its own national conditions.\u201d Xi did not say what threatens Belarus\u2019 territorial integrity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Xi added that political trust between Beijing and Minsk is \u201cas solid as rock\u201d and that cooperation under China\u2019s Belt and Road Initiative has produced \u201crich results.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pul Pervogo<\/em> quoted \u0141uka\u0161enka as saying that he values Xi\u2019s \u201cpositive assessment\u201d of the current state of bilateral relations. He pointed to the rise of the Great Stone Industrial Park near Minsk as an example of \u201csuccessful cooperation,\u201d noting that Chinese companies account for a large share of the foreign investment in the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0141uka\u0161enka reportedly said that Belarus uses Chinese technologies in all sectors of its economy and is satisfied with their quality. The Chinese foreign ministry quoted him as expressing readiness to \u201ccontinue close coordination with China on international and regional issues and jointly promote peace, development and stability in the world and in the region.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian ruler arrived in China on June 28 and was met at Beijing\u2019s Shoudu Airport by Education Minister Huai Jinpeng.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

China\u2019s CCTV reported that Xi received \u0141uka\u0161enka in the Chinese government\u2019s Diaoyutai residence. Pul Pervogo<\/em> said that a \u201ctraditional family lunch,\u201d a sign of \u201cspecial personal trust\u201d between the two leaders would follow the talks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0141uka\u0161enka\u2019s trip to China marks the start of a tour of East and Southeast Asia following two days of informal talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0141uka\u0161enka is expected to visit three countries, his press office said earlier, without specifying the destinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
