July 1, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Belarus\u2019 imports of goods outpaced exports, with the deficit totaling $2.2 billion in the first five months of 2026, according to Pozirk\u2019s<\/em> analysis of the National Statistics Committee (Bie\u0142stat) data. The deficit in goods trade is usually offset by the services surplus, but the data on trade in services is not yet available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The deficit has widened since January, from $212 million, to $888 million in January-February, $1.4 billion in January-March and $1.9 billion in January-April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarus\u2019 foreign trade in goods rose by 20.7 percent year on year to $41.2 billion, with exports at $19.5 billion and imports at $21.7 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2025, authorities posted a goods trade deficit of $7 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
