July 1, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Two Belarusian citizens were arrested near the Polish border on the night of June 25 over drone possession, the State Border Committee reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Border guards seized a handmade multi-rotor UAV, a remote control, eight rechargeable batteries, a laptop with specialized software and an antenna, it noted. All items were reportedly sent for a forensic examination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both men face minor offense charges for violating border regulations and illegally operating drones. They could face a fine of up to 5,850 rubels (more than $2,000) and confiscation of their equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 153 individuals and two legal entities have been charged since last November over illegal activities involving civilian drones and model aircraft, the Prosecutor General\u2019s Office said last month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarus criminalized the unauthorized possession and use of drones under amendments signed into law in late October 2025. Under the new legislation, unauthorized import, storage, sale, operation, or manufacture of civilian UAVs and model aircraft can result in criminal prosecution if the offense is committed a second time within one year. Penalty ranges from community service to up to two years in prison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
