July 2, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka called for closer ties with Myanmar during a meeting with the country’s leader, Min Aung Hlaing, the Belarusian ruler’s press office reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We need to pick up the pace,” it quoted \u0141uka\u0161enka as saying. “You see what’s happening in the world. The world is developing very rapidly, and often unpredictably. We see this as well. We must overcome this unpredictability through proactive measures.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The politician also congratulated Hlaing on his election victory and called for a new stage in relations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Myanmar’s leader reportedly noted that his fifth meeting with \u0141uka\u0161enka attested to dynamic cooperation between the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0141uka\u0161enka arrived in Myanmar today, after visiting China and Indonesia. Earlier, he had two days of talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in his residence of Valdai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Myanmar has been under military rule since a 2021 coup against a democratically elected government, followed by a civil war that has claimed thousands of lives. Minsk has sought to expand ties with Myanmar lately. \u0141uka\u0161enka visited it on November 27 and 28, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
