July 10, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Belarus\u2019s goods trade deficit reached $6.5 billion by the end of 2025, up 65-fold from the level recorded at the end of 2022, according to\u00a0Pozirk\u2019s<\/em>\u00a0analysis of data from the National Statistics Committee (Bie\u0142stat)<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The city of Minsk and the Homiel region were among the main contributors to the widening deficit. Minsk\u2019s trade deficit increased from $5 billion in 2022 to $9.7 billion in 2025, while the Homiel region\u2019s deficit more than doubled, rising from $77.1 million to $159.6 million over the same period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The other regions posted a goods trade surplus, but it increased only in the Brest region to 2.1 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarus\u2019 foreign trade in goods rose by 17.4 percent to $90.2 billion during the period under review.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
