July 13, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>The former deputy chair of the Or\u0161a District Executive Committee in the Viciebsk region, who also headed the food and agriculture department, was sentenced to seven years in prison on corruption charges, the Prosecutor General\u2019s Office reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The judge also fined him 22,500 rubels (about $7,840) and banned him from holding managerial positions for five years, it noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The unnamed Or\u0161a district official acted in the interests of the current and former managers of a private repair company, orchestrating the unlawful allocation of more than 50,000 Belarusian rubels (more than $17,000) in budget subsidies between January and July 2025, according to case files.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two business executives and the head of a state-owned enterprise were also among the defendants in the case and were found guilty on charges including forgery, complicity in a crime and bribery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
