July 20, Pozirk<\/em>. <\/strong>It is very important for Belarus to have the same level of relations with all Arab countries as it does with the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Libya and Jordan, Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka told the president of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed Ahmed Al-Yamahi in Minsk on July 20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBut let me be frank, we do not always manage to have such friendly relations with countries you represent,\u201d \u0141uka\u0161enka said, without elaborating, according to his press office. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian ruler emphasized the willingness of Belarus and the four countries represented on the Arab Parliament\u2019s delegation to solve all problems through peaceful negotiations and played up Belarus\u2019 potential as a \u201cpowerful machine-building country with a developed agriculture, healthcare, education, pharmaceutical industry and other sectors.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Iran conflict has shown the need for Arab countries to orient themselves not only toward large, wealthy countries, but also toward co-equal countries,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later the same day, the delegation signed a memorandum to expand ties with the Belarusian National Assembly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Arab Parliament\u2019s delegation arrived in Belarus on July 19 for a four-day visit. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Yamahi is a member of the UAE’s Federal National Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Arab Parliament, the Arab League\u2019s legislative and advisory body, has 88 members, four for each of the alliance\u2019s 22 member states, namely, Algeria, Bahrain, the Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, the UAE, and Yemen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
