July 31, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>State labor inspectors have checked about 170 farms and identified nearly 2,300 safety violations since the start of the harvest campaign, the ministry\u2019s press office said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most common violations included operating machinery without protective guards on moving parts; allowing employees to work without safety training, supervised instruction or a safety knowledge assessment; failing to provide or use personal protective equipment; and improperly securing machinery undergoing repairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inspectors ordered the suspension of 36 pieces of equipment that posed a threat to workers’ lives and health. They also barred 47 employees from work for failing to complete safety training, undergo medical examinations or use the required personal protective equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this month, Siarhiej A\u016dsijevi\u010d, deputy head of the interior ministry\u2019s economic crimes unit, noted 63 incidents in which farm executives failed to support grain-harvesting operations with fire and rescue vehicles or other suitable firefighting equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another common violation was the failure to ensure that primary firefighting equipment was ready for use. Officials said 228 such violations have already been recorded this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
