August 3, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>Belarus’ growth will exceed 1.5 percent in 2026, the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) said in its weekly macroeconomic review, revising its June forecast of 1.3-percent growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The forecast is still below the government\u2019s target of 2.8-percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CapEx drive the economic growth, analysts said, noting the 4.1-percent rise in the first half of the year after 1.5 percent posted in January-May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The EDB also pointed to construction sector recovery, with growth of nearly 2 percent and a 9.4-percent increase in expenditures on equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Government support continued to play a key role in sustaining capital expenditures, with government funding rising 11.4 percent and preferential loans nearly doubling, the report noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarus\u2019 GDP grew by 1.5 percent in the first half of the year after contracting in the first quarter, according to the official data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
