Customs officers later found out that he had volunteered to help a Ukrainian passenger transport the money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The passenger also stashed more than $10,000 among his belongings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Customs officials opened a criminal case over the illegal movement of a large amount of cash across the Eurasian Economic Union customs border. The offense carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Belarus\u2019 customs authorities have repeatedly warned that cash amounts exceeding $10,000 (or the equivalent) must be declared. Transporting more than $30,000 without declaration constitutes a criminal offense in Belarus.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>August 14, Pozirk.
