August 20, <\/strong>Pozirk<\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong>. <\/strong>BelPol, an investigative group consisting of former Belarusian law-enforcement officers, has published the second part of its report on \u201c\u0141uka\u0161enka spies disguised as diplomats,\u201d focusing on Belarusian embassies in Asia, Africa and Latin America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a YouTube video<\/a>, which runs for 43 minutes, BelPol\u2019s Ma\u0107viej Kuprej\u010dyk unveils a gallery of 28 alleged agents of the Committee for State Security (KGB) and the Main Intelligence Directorate (HRU) of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus. He highlights their alleged involvement with intelligence agencies, false identities, foreign trips and diplomatic postings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Kuprej\u010dyk, the spies are embedded within Belarusian diplomatic missions in Australia, Brazil, China, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, New\u202fZealand, Pakistan, South\u202fKorea, Switzerland, Syria, Turkey, the UAE, Vietnam, and Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the opening 12 minutes, Kuprej\u010dyk builds a case against Ambassador Alaksandr Hanevi\u010d in Switzerland and former Ambassador Ruslan Jesin in Japan, claiming that they report to the HRU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kuprej\u010dyk proceeds to the United Arab Emirates, arguing that Counsellor Leanid Holub is a KGB officer holding a \u201ccover passport,\u201d while Military Attach\u00e9 Dzianis Stasievi\u010d is tied to the HRU and Consul Siarhiej Alaksieje\u016d may also be a spy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Vietnam, Defence Attach\u00e9 Vadzim Raj\u010donak and Second Secretary Alaksandr Ma\u017eara are allegedly linked to the HRU, while Senior Counsellor Aleh Holubie\u016d may be a KGB officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kuprej\u010dyk claims that in India, Counsellor Ja\u016dhien Mironau and First Secretary Alaksandr \u017dydko are connected to the KGB, while in Pakistan Second Secretary Maksim Kirdzielevi\u010d and Third Secretary Dzianis Siniuta are linked to the HRU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Israel, Counsellor Arciom Perzanau is described as a KGB operative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BelPol also names First Secretary Dzmitry Mas\u0142a\u016d in Indonesia as a KGB officer. In South Korea, Ambassador Andrej \u010carnecki is said to have served in the KGB for many years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In China, Security Counsellor Alaksandr Lebiadziancau and Attach\u00e9 Viktar Obuchau are described as KGB officers, while Assistant Military Attach\u00e9 Pavel Charkou is allegedly linked to the HRU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Syria, Security Counsellor Andrej Bakunovi\u010d is identified as a KGB officer and Trade Counsellor Anatol Buhurenka as a HRU officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Turkey, BelPol says that Ivan Sirae\u016d and First Secretary Siarhiej \u0160ynkievi\u010d are KGB officers, Defence Attach\u00e9 Viktar Belian\u010duk is a HRU officer, and Consul Ihar Sala\u016djo\u016d is also a KGB officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First Secretary Kiryl \u010cupruhin in Egypt is described as a KGB officer. Counsellor Dzmitry Sakun in Zimbabwe is said to be suspected of links to Belarusian intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Brazil, Counsellor Siarhiej Papkovi\u010d is identified as a KGB officer, and Kanstancin Sniehawski is named as a possible agent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kuprej\u010dyk claims that many of the \u201cspies\u201d hold cover passports and forged driving licenses issued under false names and many were either born in Russia or into Russian military families that moved to Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Released on May 21, the first part of the report discloses the identities of \u201cmore than 100 \u0141uka\u0161enka spies working under diplomatic cover\u201d in 40 countries around the world, including Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Serbia, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
