August 31, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>The Belarusian Investigative Committee has accused a 30-year-old Minsk man of denying Nazi Germany\u2019s Generalplan Ost and the genocide of Belarusian people during the Second World War in a Threads post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The man faces criminal charges and is currently held in custody. He reportedly told investigators that he wanted to spark a debate and attract attention to his post. He also admitted that he had not consulted official historical sources or visited a library and had only a superficial knowledge of the subject.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The number of genocide denial cases in Belarus keeps growing. In November 2024, one man was sentenced to three years in prison in what police described as the first such case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In recent years, Belarusian courts have also convicted seven deceased Nazi war criminals of genocide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
