The accompanying documents listed the cargo as toys, but the State Customs Committee said their appearance and design closely resembled model aircraft, which was later confirmed by an expert examination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The carrier faces minor offense charges over the unlawful handling of civilian unmanned aerial vehicles and model aircraft. The provision carries a fine for legal entities and possible confiscation of the goods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A total of 153 individuals and two legal entities have been charged since last November over illegal activities involving civilian drones and model aircraft, the Prosecutor General\u2019s Office said in June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Belarus criminalized the unauthorized possession and use of drones under amendments signed into law in late October 2025. Under the new legislation, unauthorized import, storage, sale, operation, or manufacture of civilian UAVs and model aircraft can result in criminal prosecution if the offense is committed a second time within one year.
