September 11, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Belarusian opposition politicians Franak Via\u010dorka and Kry\u015bcina \u0160yjanok discussed support for the Belarusian community in Czechia with Hana Hub\u00e1\u010dkov\u00e1 of the Czech foreign ministry and officials of the Office of the President of the Czech Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting, which also focused on the situation with jailed Belarusian dissidents and the sanctions policy against Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka\u2019s regime, was part of Via\u010dorka\u2019s visit to Prague on September 8 and 9, the press office of Belarusian opposition leader \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Czech side confirmed that family members of Belarusians living in the Czech Republic will soon be able to obtain visas, it said, citing the outcome of Cichano\u016dskaja\u2019s June talks with Czech Foreign Minister Petr Macinka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One month ago, the Czech foreign ministry submitted a draft government resolution on short -term visas for Belarusian expats\u2019 family members for inter-agency review.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Via\u010dorka\u2019s visit to Czechia also included a discussion organized by the office of Belarusian pro-democracy forces, the Prague-based Association for International Affairs and the Belarusian branch of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation. It focused on Belarusian-Ukrainian relations and the history of resistance to Russian expansion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
