September 11, Pozirk<\/em>. <\/strong>Drone control relay systems used by Russian troops to facilitate attacks on Ukraine have resumed operation again, Oleh Ivashchenko, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine\u2019s defense ministry, said in an interview<\/a> with The Times<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Ivashchenko, Russian forces use a network of towers and relay systems along the border with Ukraine to transmit video signals, with six such systems identified so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey temporarily stopped using them, but now we see that some are operating again. We have sufficient capabilities to deal with this,\u201d he warned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On June 19, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky gave the Belarusian authorities one week to dismantle four drone-control relay systems allegedly used to facilitate Russian attacks on Ukraine. \u201cIf he [\u0141uka\u0161enka] does not shut them down, we will shut down everything within a week. Either they will do it, or we will,\u201d he warned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On June 24, Zelensky said the relay systems had suspended operations. He followed up with additional demands, saying Belarus should stop developing an \u201caggressive infrastructure\u201d of roads and storage facilities for ammunition, fuel and lubricants near the Ukrainian border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since then, Ukrainian officials have reported only occasional, and in some cases unconfirmed, instances of relay systems being used in Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
