September 19, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Ten of the 25 Belarusian political prisoners released on September 15 and deported to Lithuania arrived in Warsaw on September 18. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The opposition United Transitional Cabinet\u2019s Deputy Head Pavie\u0142 \u0141atu\u0161ka said that the former political prisoners would be filing applications for international protection in Poland starting September 21, with nine people expected to stay in Warsaw and one moving to Bia\u0142ystok. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the\u00a0cabinet\u2019s\u00a0press\u00a0office, the group was accompanied by\u00a0Vieranika Stankievi\u010d, a coordinator of volunteer network Volnyja,\u00a0and\u00a0met\u00a0in Warsaw\u00a0by Adam Ha\u0142aci\u0144ski,\u00a0the Polish foreign ministry\u2019s\u00a0special envoy for\u00a0relationswith Belarusian\u00a0pro-democracy\u00a0forces, and Kevin Doyle, an official at the US\u00a0embassy in Warsaw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Judging by the photo published by the press office, the group consisted of Ale\u015b \u010cumako\u016d, Kiry\u0142 Pa\u017aniak, Ludmi\u0142a \u010cekina, Pavie\u0142 Bie\u0142avus, Pavie\u0142 Pietru\u010denia, Ja\u016dhien Ju\u0161kievi\u010d, Dzianis Salmanovi\u010d, Siarhiej Rabca\u016d, and Kiry\u0142 Hniazdzi\u0142a\u016d. Janina Pa\u017aniak was also reported to be part of the group. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
