September 24, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> One day after a landmark meeting between the Belarusian and Polish foreign ministers, the Belarusian foreign ministry reported that deputy foreign ministers of Belarus and Russia discussed \u201cthe escalation policy and military build-up of NATO and the EU.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deputy Foreign Ministers Ihar Siakreta of Belarus and Alexander Grushko of Russia met in Moscow on September 23 and 24 in \u201cline with provisions of the Treaty . . . on security guarantees in the framework of the Union State,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The officials talked of coordinated fight against terrorism, extremism, organized crime, drug trafficking and illegal migration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Siakreta and Grushko agreed to hold their next meeting in Minsk in the first half of 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minsk and Moscow signed an agreement on security guarantees in December 2024. It took effect in March 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The agreement allows Russia to set up military bases in Belarus and use Belarusian security infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
