September 29, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> The Belarusian police received more than 400 reports of calls from phone scammers yesterday, the interior ministry\u2019s press office says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Authorities registered 37 crimes committed using information and communication technologies, blocked 10 phishing websites, including fake e-commerce platforms, banks and other services, suspended outgoing transactions from 43 accounts and arrested a delivery person who allegedly worked for scammers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scam calls peaked between June 30 and July 16 at more than 5,000, followed by 4,400 calls between August 18 and 31. Police have received more than 2,700 reports of such calls since September 22, which indicates another upward trend as the number hovered around 2,100 in the first half of September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cybercrimes accounted for more than one-third of all crimes recorded in Belarus from January through May 2026, reaching 33.4 percent, the interior ministry said earlier. The share has been rising steadily in recent years, from 21.5 percent in 2023 to 27.5 percent in 2024 and 29.7 percent in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2026, Belarus recorded an average of 359 cybercrimes a week, or more than 50 a day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
