October 12, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>TheBelarusian National Youth Council (RADA), a coalition of exiled Belarusian youth organizations, has launched a website against the death penalty in Belarus as part of a project supported by the Council of Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RADA unveiled the project at the Council of Europe Information Point for Belarusian People in Vilnius on October 12. According to the CoE press office, the event, marking the World Day Against the Death Penalty, was the first one hosted by the information point since its opening in May 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The website, deathpenaltyminsk.online, takes visitors on a tour of 17 sites in Minsk associated with the death penalty and its application in Belarus in the 20th and the 21st century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The site is available in Belarusian and English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarus remains the only country in Europe to use the death penalty. About 350 people have been executed during Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka\u2019s 30 years in power, Belarusian opposition leader \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja said last year. Only a few cases of clemency are known.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
