October 30, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> An invitation from family members or friends may simplify the Schengen visa application process, but it does not guarantee the issue of a visa, says a video released by the German embassy in Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applicants must meet all requirements, including proof of sufficient funds for the trip, strong ties to their country of origin and an intention to return to Belarus, it stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The embassy also added that applicants must show a stable, legitimate source of income. A sudden, unexplained deposit of a large sum into a bank account could raise concerns, it warned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

High demand and the embassy\u2019s limited capacity mean that applicants may have to wait several months for an appointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year, the European Union countries issued 152,171 Schengen visas in Belarus, a sharp decline compared to 643,474 visas issued in 2019, according to Pozirk<\/em>\u2019s analysis of the EU migration service\u2019s data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Political factors may have played a decisive role, with the suspension or sharp reduction in visa issuance by EU consular services in Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
