November 2, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>A drone entered the Latvian airspace from Belarus on Sunday evening before continuing into Russia, LSM<\/em> reported, citing Seldzis Grasmanis of Latvia\u2019s National Armed Forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grasmanis said the object crossed into Latvia and entered its Kr\u0101slava district at 7 p.m. and left for Russia at 7:16 p.m. through the Ludza disctrict. \u201cWhat kind of drone was it? We cannot say. We can speculate that it was a Ukrainian drone. This is just a speculation,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An air raid warning was issued in the two Latvian districts, with local residents urged to take shelter. A Blaze interceptor drone was deployed to neutralize the potential threat. The interceptor reportedly self-destructed to prevent itself from straying into Russian territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On August 14, Latvia recorded an incursion by a drone from Belarus, with NATO patrol fighter jets shooting it down. Latvian Defense Minister Raivis Melnis said the drone had been knocked off course by Russian electronic jamming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Baltic states reportedly recorded at least 24 drone incursions between January 2025 and May 2026, with Latvia reporting at least 12 incidents, Lithuania seven and Estonia five.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
